The most exciting news from my weekend is that I know a Canadian Olympian!

She worked in the same lab as me a few years ago and we saw each other again last year when she was in my first year meds class. She left in the middle of last year in order to do rowing full time. And now she's in Athens! Damn these talented and successful people!

Her team is in the rowing competition and they actually won gold in the worlds earlier this year. There's even a story on them on the CBC website. Wow, this is like knowing a celebrity!

In other news, Amy and I went to see two plays at Summerworks, a play festival in town. (My real motive for going was to feel like I was in New York again.) They were pretty interesting. One showed the absurdity of Canadians (well, stereotypical Canadian lumberjack hicks), and the other showed how love sucks. How lovely.

My ticking time bomb of a biological clock also got one year louder on Friday. Eek! Especially after coming back from North Bay, seemingly the epicentre of teenage pregnancies, I feel even older. Sigh.
