Two summers ago, I went to England for a work term in a research lab. The work wasn't terribly interesting to me, so I spent most of my weekdays in the lab planning my weekend trips to other cities to sightsee.

Lo and behold, my shoddy work during these eight weeks ended up being published. And I am a second author on a four author paper! And my former supervisor didn't even inform me! What the heck?? I don't even remember what we were investigating! Why couldn't it have been this easy to get published when I was doing my fourth year thesis? I actually knew what I was talking about in that project!

Anyway, not to kick a gift horse in the mouth, I am thankful to be published. But it just doesn't seem fair, considering how little work I put in at this lab and how much work I put in at all the others. Plus, now I will have to read this paper to figure out what I supposedly had done!
