After a stressful six weeks, my surgery rotation is finally over. I have never had lower expectations. I am just hoping to pass so I can forget all about this terrible first experience and try not to think about having to do this all over again next year.

I started medicine today and it was been a wonderful change. They actually seem to care about the students! And they enjoy teaching! I mean, what a concept at a teaching hospital!

I am a lot more enthusiastic about this rotation than my last, but some of the cynicism honed over the past six weeks is still creeping in at unexpected times. I am hoping that it won't affect my performance too much. I may even aim for more than a pass in this rotation (ooh! what a concept!).
